Service Description
SQUARE by Woodshop Kids invites young makers to learn the logic and artistry of chess by crafting their own sets from simple materials. Each week focuses on one piece’s movement and role while exploring design, balance, and planning, blending cognitive development with creativity and fine-motor skill building. Tool use includes nuts, bolts, wrenches, screwdrivers, squares, rulers, and, of course, wood. This initial 10-week program introduces the basic movement of the chess pieces while promoting organizational thinking, spatial reasoning, patience, and creative problem-solving. Each week includes a learning focus, hands-on project, vocabulary, and reflection prompts. This class is held at Ezra Guitar: 785 Coney Island Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11218 Saturday Class Dates: January 10, 17, 24 February 7, 14, 28 March 7, 14, 21, 28 Class does not meet on January 31st or February 21st.
Cancellation Policy
The class will not run if fewer than four students register. In this case, you will have the option of enrolling in a later class or receiving an refund.
